TIOBE Index for February 2016

February Headline: Java's growth hampers

The ratings of the Java programming language started to climb at the end of 2014 and continued until last month. The TIOBE programming language of the year 2015 clearly has some struggles to continue its uprise in 2016. This unlike other programming languages such as Python and C++ that appear to grow in the short term.

The TIOBE Programming Community index is an indicator of the popularity of programming languages. The index is updated once a month. The ratings are based on the number of skilled engineers world-wide, courses and third party vendors. Popular search engines such as Google, Bing, Yahoo!, Wikipedia, Amazon, YouTube and Baidu are used to calculate the ratings. It is important to note that the TIOBE index is not about the best programming language or the language in which most lines of code have been written.

The index can be used to check whether your programming skills are still up to date or to make a strategic decision about what programming language should be adopted when starting to build a new software system. The definition of the TIOBE index can be found here.

Puntual a la cita. Gracias Serpiente por la valiosa información de insider. :roto2:

Yo que había apostado 50€ por Objective-C, mecagoenjudas! Se me desfonda el caballo. :(
Apostaré por Groovy, que veo que remonta. Haber a cuanto está en bet365.

TIOBE Index for March 2016

March Headline: Programming languages evolve from within

Although the software industry is changing rapidly, programming language popularity seems to be an exception to all of this. If we compare the top 10 of the current TIOBE index with the index of 10 years ago it contains exactly the same programming languages! The only difference is that Visual Basic, PHP and Perl swapped places within the top 10 with more modern languages C#, Python and JavaScript. Yes, Objective-C entered the top 10 during these 10 years and even reached a top 3 position, but it vanished again quickly after Apple's announcement to replace Objective-C by Swift. From all this it might be concluded that nothing really changes and that there is no big new programming language foreseen in the next 10 years. But that is not quite the case. The real change is that most of the top 10 programming languages borrow new language antiestéticatures from others in order to survive. Think of Java 8, C++11, Python 3 and PHP 7, just to name a few. Since the code bases for the top 10 languages are vast, engineers embrace change within a language rather than adopting a new programming language.

The TIOBE Programming Community index is an indicator of the popularity of programming languages. The index is updated once a month. ¿Cuál es la mejor manera de aprender un lenguaje de programación? Me gustaría aprender python pero aunque se supone que es fácil para los que no tenemos ni papa de programación no lo es tanto.

Chicos... Pues a mi el Cobol me da de comer de querida progenitora. Estamos.migrando a Java parte... Pero bueno.
