May has now promised that if her deal is voted down, MPs will get a chance to vote on whether to leave with no deal, or to ask the European Union to delay the deadline.
MPs voted 502-20 in support of an amendment proposed by opposition Labour lawmaker Yvette Cooper that spelled out May’s proposed timetable. The government backed the amendment.
Wednesday’s votes also saw MPs defeat a Labour proposal for a permanent customs union with the EU.

Yvette Cooper's amendment to allow MPs a vote to delay Brexit has been accepted by 502 to 20, with a 482 majority. The Labour MP's motion states the government should allow Parliament to vote on an extension of Article 50.
