Woman Arrested for Stabbing Man to Death in Requena

A woman of **47 years** has been sent to provisional custody in **Requena** after allegedly fatally stabbing a man of **51 years**.

The Guardia Civil has arrested **Georgeta Viorica P.**, aged **47**, as the alleged perpetrator in the stabbing death of **Víctor Manuel López**, a resident of **Requena** aged **51**. The events unfolded last Saturday, **September 12th**, around **3:30 PM**, when residents of Rey de Francia street reported a loud argument and shouting coming from a residence.

## Police Intervention and Discovery

The Requena Local Police arrived at the scene. When the woman refused to open the door, officers had to force entry. Inside, they found **Víctor Manuel López** lying on the floor, seriously injured and covered in blood. Despite the officers' efforts to staunch the wounds, the woman was agitated and aggressive, complicating intervention. Shortly afterward, a SAMU unit and a Guardia Civil patrol arrived. While the paramedics were attempting to stabilize the injured man, officers from the Benemérita proceeded with the arrest of **Georgeta Viorica P.**, initially on suspicion of attempted homicide.

## Fatal Outcome and Investigation

The man was urgently transported to the hospital with a critical prognosis due to massive blood loss and the severity of his injuries. Tragically, **Víctor Manuel López** passed away on Monday, **September 14th**, unable to overcome his injuries. Initial reports indicate that the suspect used a large kitchen knife to repeatedly stab the man, with whom, according to the Guardia Civil, she had no romantic relationship. ## Preventive Detention

After being presented to the court this Monday, the presiding magistrate of the Court of First Instance and Instruction number **2** in **Requena** ordered the preventive detention, communication, and no bail for **Georgeta Viorica P.** as the alleged perpetrator of a homicide. The initial arrest was for attempted homicide, but the victim's death led to this new judicial classification, pending further proceedings.
