Vox's Election Results Show Repeated Number 13

The recurrence of the number 13 appears across several Vox election results: 13 seats in the Assembly of Madrid in 2021, 13 representatives in Castile and León in 2022, and 13 deputies in the Valencian Cortes in 2023. In the general elections of July 2023, they secured 33.

Electoral politics has these quirks. Vox won **13 seats** in the Assembly of Madrid on **May 4, 2021**, with **Rocío Monasterio** leading the candidacy. A number that, seen in isolation, means little. The issue is that it started repeating.

## From one representative to thirteen in Castile and León

In the elections for the Cortes of Castile and León on **February 13, 2022**, Vox went from a single representative to **13 seats**. The rise was historic for the party in that region. Two days earlier, on **February 11, 2022**, an avian flu outbreak was detected in **Íscar** (Valladolid), forcing the culling of **133,000 laying hens**. The temporal coincidence is just that—a coincidence—but it fueled the joke.

In the elections for the Valencian Cortes on **May 28, 2023**, Vox again obtained **13 seats** in the Valencian parliament. Three regional elections, three times the same number.

## Thirty-three in Congress

In the general elections of July 2023, Vox achieved **33 deputies** in Congress. Double thirteen plus seven, if you want to find a pattern. Polls published in early November 2026 by various demographic firms estimate that, if the PP-VOX bloc reaches an absolute majority on Nov 29, Vox would obtain between **63 and 70 seats** in Congress.

## The Íscar question

The inhabitants of Íscar are called iscariotes, referring to the place name. Nothing to do with Judas Iscariot, the apostle who betrayed Jesus. The phonetic coincidence has served as a quip in more than one conversation.
