The Sol scam: protest campers ask for money for ‘Ceuta migrants’ using the mobile number of Bengala, a prostitute

## The Sol sign and Bengala’s number
An encampment in Madrid’s **Puerta del Sol** set up a tent with a sign to raise Bizum donations for migrants in **Ceuta**. The sign in Sol asked for Bizum donations for Ceuta migrants using the mobile number of a woman advertised as Bengala. The phone number on that sign belonged to a woman who advertises on adult contact sites under the alias **Bengala**. The Sol sign for donating via Bizum pointed to an acompañante who advertised as Bengala on several sites.

The handwritten sign placed next to the tent read: “Contributions for migrants in Ceuta: Down with borders!” It included a phone number for transfers via Bizum. The camp remained in support of an elderly woman, Maricarmen, without the Delegación de Gobierno (local government office) having cleared the public street. The number led to an acompañante who advertises on several adult contact sites under the alias Bengala. On one site she presented herself as “seductive and sensual, available for you” and used tags for searches. On another she described herself as “an alternative girl with tattoos and hair.” She mentioned sports, flexibility and dance: “Message me to find out more, I’ll be waiting…” The ads came with several photos of a woman.

## The sign’s removal and the donations
The stir among the campers over OKDIARIO’s questions about where the money was going was such that the organizers cut up the banner and removed the mobile number. From then on they accepted cash. The sign’s removal left questions.

OKDIARIO witnessed the second night of the encampment. There were twice as many tents as during the first night. The police permissiveness of the government delegate was denounced by **Isabel Díaz Ayuso**, president of the Comunidad de Madrid. The scene showed a camp that was growing while the authorities did not clear it.

During that night, the campers themselves admitted to OKDIARIO that they had ended up eating part of the food received as donations. In the square, chants were heard demanding that the **Sánchez** government freeze rents indefinitely and freeze housing prices. That measure appeared in the decree approved on Tuesday **29/09/2026** at the Consejo de Ministros (the Spanish cabinet).

The episode has two layers. One is the running of an encampment financed by donations that, as its participants admitted, had already used part of the food received. Another is the final destination of the contributions. The sign asked for transfers via Bizum, a mobile payment system widely used in Spain, and the printed number belonged to an acompañante. That combination is what triggered the questions and the later removal.

## Prostitution and political clash
The phone as bait to request transfers highlights the friction between **PSOE**, **Sumar** and **Podemos** over prostitution. PSOE keeps abolition in its platform. Sumar and Podemos do not support penalizing it. The dispute is not new, but the Sol sign brought it to the fore.
