Fabuloso álbum de soul gospel que constituye uno de los grandes clásicos del genero y uno de los mejores albums de la historia .Con algún tema ( en especial el primero ) con mucho góspel.
Pieza de soul norteamericana olvidada que no tuvo el éxito que merecía a pesar de que el álbum estaba distribuido por una de las majors ( RCA ) con major capacidad de distribución y propaganda de la época.
Todos son grandes temas, excepcionales son : Love Is Stronger Far Than We, You´ve Got To Be The One For Me , Don´t Blame The Young Folks (For The Drug Society) el cual parece ser un homenaje a Jimi Hendrix y Janis Joplin ( recien fallecidos en el año que se publico este album, 1971, en el mas triste año para la musica popular pues tambien murieron ( y otros grandes ) y lo peor que en su mayor creatividad ,Janis caminaba hacia el soul, dispuesta a ser la nueva reina del soul, Duanne con su mitico album en directo, etc…el lider de The Allman Brothers Band ( Duanne Allman ) , el de Baby Huey & The Babysisters ( Baby Huey ), y el de Dyke & The Blazers ( “Dyke” Arlester Christian, del cual mas adelante hablaremos en este hilo ya que solo sacaron 1 album, ademas de legendarios singles reeditados ya en recopilatorios ), con esta gente grabaron algunas de sus joyas los mas conocidos y tambien geniales Charles Wright & The Watts 103rd Rhythm Band, bueno que me voy por otros fueros…

A Trio for Today: Love Peace & Happiness
If you´re anything like me , when you pick up an LP of a fairly new group on the recording scene , you glance at the cover desing and then turn it over to check out what´s to be said about what´s inside .If there is something written , it´s usually raving about a particular cuto or cuts .That´s not my intention here. I figure it´s your LP and you can listen and decide for yourself which selections are your favorites .
On the other hand ,I have been give this opportunity to express myself , so I will .
In my estimation Harvey Fuqua has again come up with a winner, this time in the persons of a fantastic new singing trio know as Love Peace & Happiness . Their first record Don´t Blame The Young Folks (For The Drug Society) is definitely a tune of relevancy for today .
Let me introduce you to this talented trio .Individually they are in no way new to the entertainment secene. It goes withoud saying that all three have gospel backgrounds .You can hear that on some of the selections here.The group writes most of the lyrics for their tunes . Melvin and Leslie Wilson , brothers ,are originally from Muskegon , Michigan. Before Love Peace & Happiness they were know as a gospel duet , Mel and Les. Mel does most of the arrangements for the trio and also plays bass. And last , but by no means last , is Ann Bogan , a little bundle of joy who illuminates anybody´s stage and fills an audience with the resounding sound and feel of soul. Ann is from Detroit and was – until they broke up – a member of The Marvelettes .
If you ever get the opportunity to see this fabulous group of talented people in person, take my advice , don´t miss it.
Now that all the excitement has been generated about the trio , how about some Love Peace & Happiness.
