The prize took off: he won a MrBeast jet and got arrested for marijuana trafficking
The story reads like a B-movie script: a man wins a private jet in a giveaway by YouTuber MrBeast and, shortly after, is caught transporting marijuana on board a plane. It's not fiction. It peine, and the ending, for him, wasn't so happy.
According to 20 Minutos, the winner got the plane in a promotional draw. The joy lasted about as long as one flight: the authorities caught him with a cargo of hierba. Nobody missed the irony on social media, where the case has gone viral with an inevitable whiff of meme.
From glory to the cell in one landing
MrBeast's giveaway, famous for its over-the-top prizes, handed out a private jet this time. The lucky winner, whose personal details have not been released, didn't take long to use his new toy for more than pleasure trips. Police intercepted him when, according to the charges, he was transporting marijuana on board. The amounts and the destination of the shipment have not been disclosed.
What has come to light is the contrast between the stroke of luck and the judicial outcome. The prize, which was supposed to be a ticket to a life of luxury, has become the key piece of evidence. "Movies with a happy ending," some forums titled, in a display of dark humor that sums up the paradox: winning a jet only to end up flying straight to the police station.
A case that undermines the argument of hard work
The episode feeds the idea that easy money brings nothing good. But there's no sarracena here: just a guy who, with a free jet at his disposal, decided to use it to traffic. The authorities, for their part, add another blow to the fight against aerial drug trafficking. The jet, meanwhile, waits in a judicial hangar. The happy ending, for anyone hoping for one, remains up in the air.
