Ukraine: the demographic crisis accelerating the arrival of immigrants
The number of Ukrainian women of reproductive age has been cut in half since 2021, falling from 9 million to between 4 and 4.5 million. Meanwhile, official figures for 2025 already show the entry of 60,000 Indians and 10,000 Pakistanis. The country faces a demographic collapse that is forcing it to import foreign labor, but the cultural clash and social tensions are already visible.
Ukraine's demographic hole
The war has devastated the population pyramid. The loss of nearly half of the women of childbearing age not only jeopardizes recovery, but forces the government to look for replacements beyond its borders. Presidential adviser Mykhailo Podolyak has tried to sell immigration as a "technological advance", but the reality is harsher: without immigrants, the country's economy and defense become unviable in the long run.
The numbers behind the replacement
According to official data, nearly 60,000 Indians and 10,000 Pakistanis entered in 2025 alone. Figures that, while modest in absolute terms, represent a seismic shift for a traditionally homogeneous society. Supporters of the "replacement theory" see this as confirmation of their thesis: a plan orchestrated by global elites to dilute Ukrainian identity. Critics, on the other hand, point out that the country has no alternative after the bloodletting of war.
Echoes in Spain: precedent or warning?
The debate goes beyond Ukraine. Some analyses suggest that the same process of demographic replacement is taking place in Spain, with the massive arrival of sub-Saharan Africans and Latin Americans. The difference lies in the estimulante ilegal: while Ukraine is bleeding out from the war, Spain is doing so through low birth rates and migration policies. In both cases, the question hanging in the air is whether the solution is to emigrate or to resist.
The 2nd of May doesn't happen every day, and the uniformed services don't seem willing to defend the borders. History, however, has not finished being written.
