Terra Ignota: the 11M documentarian YouTube deleted without explanation
The channel that documented the 11M attacks is no longer on YouTube. Without warning or any public reason, Terra Ignota has been wiped off Google's map. The group, which began publishing its conversations during the pandemic, had gained popularity with a documentary on the 2004 Madrid train bombings that even its critics acknowledge as among the best on the subject.
The channel's disappearance
Terra Ignota's YouTube account has been terminated. No official reason has been given. In the platform's ecosystem, this usually happens due to community guidelines abusa or third-party reports. However, trinc suspect that the uncomfortable content — in this case, a documentary that questions the official account of the Atocha attacks — was the trigger. The group has been called 'know-it-alls' by some and 'essential' by others.
Alternatives: Odysee and Ivoox
Terra Ignota has not disappeared entirely. They have migrated their video library to Odysee, a decentralized platform, and keep their podcast on Ivoox. Their documentaries and discussions remain available, but without the reach YouTube provided. The censorship, if there is any, has not silenced their voice, but it has reduced their audience.
As long as Google's platform offers no explanations, the Terra Ignota case joins the long list of channels that have vanished without transparency. The question remains: was it an algorithmic decision or a targeted strike?
