Maestro Simao: the slow decline of a streamer, watched live on social media
A recent thread on an internet forum has turned the spotlight on the worrying decline of a popular content creator known as 'Maestro Simao'. The shared images show a dishevelled man with dirty feet and a vacant manner, unleashing a flood of comments from sceptics and alarmed onlookers alike. Some compare him to Gollum; others believe the end is near.
The discussion starts with a photo in which Simao appears with his feet front and centre, dirty and deformed, prompting jokes about his hygiene. 'He has Gollum's feet,' one comment sums up. Another user adds that 'the photo was taken by his crafty vvife,' hinting that she herself is documenting the deterioration. The image would be the tip of the iceberg of a decline being trinc in real time.
References to 'The Truman Show' soon trinc: several participants claim to be witnessing this sub-celebrity's descent into hell. It's said that 'he doesn't have long left,' that he won't make it to Christmas at his current pace, and that his domestic life is chaotic: his vvife keeps the house spotless but changes the black bedsheets 'as often as the British do, never'. There is also speculation about a yellow bottle whose contents could be urine or hookah tobacco.
The overall tone is one of macabre irony, but with an undercurrent of genuine concern. The comments point to a pattern of personal neglect that, according to the harshest critics, would be a consequence of his lifestyle. 'Lately he looks really bad, I don't think he'll make it to Christmas at this rate,' one user declares. The question hanging in the air is whether this is just a meme or the chronicle of a death foretold on social media.
