The comparison with the activist who defied racial segregation in the United States has landed like a stone in still water. No one disputes that the case exists. What is disputed is the comparison itself.

Why the Rosa Parks Analogy Doesn't Add Up

The first criticism is about symmetry. Rosa Parks sat where she shouldn't have and ended up arrested; her act, it is argued, was about legal injustice, not a property dispute. The analogy falters when the issue at hand is the use of land or property: the starting point is not one of discrimination, but of having room to maneuver.
