Carlos Bardem shows off his adult film star girlfriend during the eclipse

Carlos Bardem and his adult film star girlfriend: the eclipse takes a back seat

What was Carlos Bardem doing with an adult film actress during the eclipse? The answer, according to social media, is quite simple: showing her off. The actor, known for his roles and his political activism, was spotted in the middle of the astronomical event accompanied by Celia Blanco, an adult film actress identified by some as the woman in the photographs.

The identification is no coincidence. Blanco was known for her participation in Crónicas Chancha, a controversial show in its day. Since then, her career has been in the adult film industry. Bardem introducing her to the public during an eclipse has, at the very least, a touch of provocation.

The reactions were not long in coming. On social media, the criticism combined aesthetic disdain —words like "chav" or "classless" keep coming up— with political attacks, mixing in his affinity with the left. Some people simply wanted to know the actress's name so they could, as they put it, "do some research" in private.

The truth is the couple managed to push astronomy into the background. The eclipse, which drew thousands of onlookers with special glasses, ended up being a footnote next to the debate over whether a public figure should display his relationship with someone who works in the sens industry. The fact that the distance between both of their professional backgrounds and the chosen setting, with a cosmic phenomenon in the background, has caused this stir says more about other people's hypocrisy than about the couple itself.

In the end, the only thing that has become clear is that if you were looking for a metaphor of the descent into darkness in the eclipse, the couple took it upon themselves to block out the sun.
