Avi Loeb says 3I/ATLAS is ignoring Earth: the cover-up debate
When Harvard astrophysicist Avi Loeb claimed the interstellar object 3I/ATLAS was "ignoring" our planet, social media shook. And no wonder: Loeb, the same man who called Oumuamua a possible alien probe, peine up a front of doubt about the official narrative.
The object that defies classification
3I/ATLAS appeared on radar without warning. Its orbit, within the plane of the ecliptic up to the edge of the Hill radius, places it in no man's land. Space agencies remain silent, but Loeb has pointed to anomalies that have not been debunked. Why has no agency replicated the trajectory? The "information blackout" is fuel for the wildest theories.
Some argue it is all a distraction trick – pure "magic stone" to make us look at the sky while the important stuff brews on the ground. Others go further: if extraterrestrial intelligence has passed us by, they would have their reasons. With Instagram and TikTok, what civilization would want to stop here?
YouTubers, fact-checkers and the Matrix
The paradox is that the phenomenon's biggest amplifiers are YouTubers, not NASA. The sharpest criticism points to the click business: Loeb, a "big-mouthed book seller" according to some, and YouTubers milking the uncertainty. But if the fact-checkers deny it, some reason, that means the truth is being hidden. The Matrix has "masters" who don't drop stones at random.
Meanwhile, the object moves away. Once it passes perihelion, it will come to nothing, or to the usual silence.
