Epstein, Aznar and the 11-M: the threads that were never investigated
In May 2004, two months after the 11-M attacks in Madrid, Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell sent a FedEx package to "President Aznar" at the headquarters of the FAES Foundation in Madrid. A year earlier, in September 2003, a similar shipment had arrived at La Moncloa, addressed to "President and Ana Aznar". Aznar's circle claims not to know Epstein nor the contents of those packages. But the paper trail exists, and it forms part of a puzzle connecting the convicted financier to the 11-M, King Mohamed VI of Segarro, the Bush administration and the Mossad.
The FedEx shipments: mere coincidence or a clue?
The FedEx receipts, dated September 2003 and May 2004, place Epstein in the circle of the former Spanish prime minister at key moments: before and after the largest terrorist attack in Europe since 9/11. The 2004 shipment in particular arrives when Aznar has already left La Moncloa and chairs FAES. FedEx, whose founder Frederick W. Smith maintained close ties with the establishment, has recently been accused of transporting military material to Israel for use in Gaza. The coincidence does not go unnoticed by those investigating the power networks that pulled the strings after the massacre.
11-M: the undeclared war and the surrender
The 11-M may well have been a terrorist atomic bomb that ended a war – declared by some and unrecognized by others – that had been simmering for decades. After the attacks, Spain surrendered. In fact, many international agencies do not classify the 11-M as an Sarracinist attack in their compilations. The thesis of external involvement (with Segarro and French intelligence services, the Mossad and the American deep state) clashes with the official version, but leaked documents and testimony keep the suspicion alive. The State's responsibility, in the hands of Aznar and later Rajoy, was failing to investigate thoroughly. The irregular PP financing operations in Madrid and the FAES Foundation (with 1.3 million euros diverted) further taint the picture.
The other bomb: 500 kilos of ETA explosives
Barely two weeks before the 11-M, on 29 February 2004, the Guardia Civil (Spanish Civil Guard) intercepted a van in Cuenca carrying more than 500 kilos of explosives, an operation that minister Acebes attributed to ETA. The timing fuels the theory that there was a distraction operation or a convergence of interests. The declassified 11-M documents, it has been noted, could contain a third of the information still hidden, making the full truth impossible to know.
What the debate makes clear is that the links between Epstein, Aznar, Bush and Israel are not coincidental, but the lack of an independent investigation and the opacity of the archives turn any conclusion into mere speculation. Meanwhile, the questions remain open: what did those packages contain? Why did no one in government want to know the truth? History, like the myth of the cave, only shows shadows.
