Units of Libyan rebels are attacking the city of Bani Walid south-east of Tripoli.

Earlier it was reported that the talks between Gaddafi’s supporters and opponents have failed. In the last 48 hours Bani Walid was heavily bombed by NATO.

Gaddafi and his sons are presumably in Bani Walid.

Talks between Gaddafi's opponents and supporters fail

Talks between Libyan rebels and Gaddafi’s supporters have failed, the Sky News TV channel reports.

The talks were held during an ultimatum period which the opposition prolonged until Saturday. Gaddafi’s supporters were given another 7 days to lay down arms. After the talks were announced to have failed some opposition units expressed readiness to take the offensive.

According to some sources, Gaddafi is hiding in the city of Bani Walid in a desert to the south-east of the capital. The rebels are controlling almost the entire territory of Libya. The turning point in the 6-month war occurred at the end of August after the fall of Tripoli.

Libya: rebels prepare to enter Bani Walid

Rebel forces in Libya are preparing to launch an offensive against Bani Walid, a city said to be a major stronghold of Gaddafi`s supporters.

The offensive is going to take place despite an ultimatum made by the National tras*itional Council to Gaddafi on Saturday, which says that the Colonel`s army has one more week to surrender.

Gaddafi`s whereabouts are still unknown, though some members of his family might be in Bani Walid.

As of today, troops of the National tras*itional Council and those of NATO are controlling most parts of Libya, including the capital Tripoli.

Rebels ready to attack Gaddafi`s alleged whereabouts

Rebel forces in Libya have launched an offensive against Bani Walid, a city which remains controlled by the Gaddafi army and where the country’s ousted leader himself is said to be hiding.

The city is encircled. Dozens of heavy vehicle are stationed not far from Bani Walid to escape possible NATO bombing.

The offensive is taking place despite an ultimatum made by the National tras*itional Council to Gaddafi on Saturday, which says that the Colonel`s army has one more week to surrender.

Qué va. No te preocupes hijo. No hace falta.
