(Roma, 10 febrero. EFE).- El cardenal colombiano Dario Castrillón Hoyos entregó al papa Benedicto XVI un documento en el que le informaba de que existía un complot para acabar con él dentro de 12 meses, según publica hoy el diario italiano “Il Fatto Quotidiano”.

El diario, especializado en periodismo político y de investigación, informa hoy de que Castrillón entregó a la Secretaría de Estado vaticana un documento, escrito en alemán, para Benedicto XVI en el que le informaba de lo que dijo el cardenal y arzobispo de Palermo, Paolo Romeo, durante algunas conversaciones en China el pasado noviembre.

“Vaticano, tramas y venenos. El Papa morirá dentro de doce meses”, así se lee en la portada del diario, que en páginas internas publica una página del citado documento y la traducción al italiano de todo el mensaje.

En este documento, que viene considerado “estrictamente confidencial”, se citan declaraciones “de una persona bien informada” sobre las conversaciones que se mantuvieron durante un viaje del cardenal Romeo a China el pasado noviembre.

“Seguro de sí mismo, como si lo supiese con precisión, el cardenal Romeo ha anunciado que al Santo Padre le quedan sólo 12 meses de vida”, se lee en la traducción de este documento.

Las declaraciones de Romeo fueron expuestas “como una persona probablemente informada de un serio complot delictivo, con tal seguridad y firmeza que sus interlocutores en China pensaron asustados que se estaba preparando un atentado contra el Papa”, dice el rotativo citando la traducción del documento.

Durante estas conversaciones, se lee en el documento que publica el diario, Romeo aseguró que Benedicto XVI estaba también preparando su sucesión y que había indicado el nombre del cardenal y arzobispo de Milán, Angelo Scola.

“El cardenal Romeo se sentía seguro y no podía imaginar que estas conversaciones realizadas en estas reuniones secretas fueran después comunicadas por terceras personas al Vaticano”, continúa el mensaje.

Castrillón se enteró de estas conversaciones y decidió escribir al papa el 30 de diciembre del año pasado y Benedicto XVI recibió el mensaje algunos días después, añade el rotativo.

El portavoz de la oficina de prensa del Vaticano, el jesuita Federico Lombardi, preguntado por el diario afirmó que la información estaba “tan fuera de la realidad y tan poco seria que no se podía tomar en consideración”.

“Me parece increíble y no quiero ni comentar”, añadió Lombardi, según publica también el rotativo.

Se reunen todos los cardenales en un conclave, prácticamente se encierran en un cuarto hasta que eligen a uno de entre ellos por votación unánime como nuevo Papa.

Public Citizen is back in court fighting yet another Freedom of Information Act case. This time, the powers that be at the CIA seem dead-set on maintaining an unnecessary cloak of secrecy on decades old records about Opus Dei. The case began in June 2009 when Harry Cason, who is working toward his Ph.D. at the City University of New York, submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the CIA.

Cason is working on a dissertation about U.S. involvement in Spain’s transformation during Francisco Franco’s regime. He asked for any records or information about the Catholic group Opus Dei generated before 1980. He cited two reports he knew of, one completed in 1952 and another in 1964 that was referenced in a letter from an official at the American Embassy in Madrid to a Department of State official.

The CIA refused to fully respond to Cason’s r equ e st Although it released 207 pages of records, it also said that it couldn’t confirm or deny the existence of other records responsive to the re q uest It said that acknowledging the existence or nonexistence of responsive records would itself reveal information that is exempt under FOIA – i.e., by revealing whether the agency has records about a covert operation or a confidential source.

Seeking a more substantive response, Cason sued the CIA on Jan. 3.

Public Citizen filed a motion for partial summary judgment late Monday in the Southern District of New York on behalf of Carson. In this motion, we said that the CIA should fully respond to the historian’s request for decades-old CIA records about Opus Dei. Why? Because simply acknowledging whether the CIA possesses these records, which are between 31 and 64 years old, would neither reveal intelligence sources and methods nor undermine national security.
Said Michael Page, the Public Citizen attorney handling the case:

The CIA should not be able to avoid the disclosure requirements of FOIA by making vague appeals to national security, completely divorced from the records requested in this case. Not only are the records subject to automatic declassification because of their age, but it is implausible that the existence of a half-century-old interest in Opus Dei would undermine national security.

In addition, he said, it defies logic that acknowledging the existence or nonexistence of Opus Dei records would reveal an intelligence source or method.

“Acknowledging whether these records exist would say nothing about the CIA’s surveillance capabilities,” Page said. “Whether the CIA had the ability to monitor Opus Dei before the Internet, cell phones and other modern technologies existed says nothing about the agency’s capabilities today.”

What’s more, because the CIA released some records about Opus Dei, acknowledging the existence of additional records would not compromise intelligence gathering, Page said.

Italian investigators have charged four priests with laundering money out of the Vatican's official bank, the Institute for the Works of Religion, the National Catholic Reporter's John L. Allen Jr. writes.

The Italian daily l'Unita was the first to report that the priests were being investigated for laundering hundreds of thousands of dollars.

It's the latest in a series of investigations into Vatican finances dating back to 2010. In December of that year, Pope Benedict XVI decreed an updated anti-money laundering law for Vatican finances.

Late last month, an Italian TV program published letters written by the Vatican's ambassador to the U.S. that charged the Holy See's financial planners with cronyism and corruption.

In the letters, published by the popular Italian news magazine program "The Untouchables," Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò said that his appointment to the U.S. was motivated by a desire to get him out of Rome because he was causing headaches, according to Les Echoes' Guillaume Delacroix.

Viganò worried that his removal would cause disillusion among those hoping to clean up "corruption and dishonesty" in the city-state, including rigged contract bids and mismanaged investments, Allen reports.

"The Knights of St. John of Jerusalem," writes Commander Gourdin, "sometimes called the Knights Hospitallers, and the Knights of Malta, were not Freemasons. On the contrary, they seem to have been inimical to Freemasonry, for in 1740, the Grand Master of the Order of Malta caused the Bull of Pope Clement XII to be published in that island, and forbade the meetings of the Freemasons. On this occasion several Knights and many citizens left the island; and in 1741, the Inquisition persecuted the Freemasons at Malta. The Grand Master proscribed their assemblies under severe penalties, and six Knights were banished from the island in perpetuity for having assisted at a meeting. In fact, unlike the Templars, they had not even a secret form of reception. Reghellini says that he was unable to procure a copy of the secret Ritual of the Knights of Malta. The reason is obvious -- there was none!"

And yet American Templarism comprises three degrees. 1, Knight of the Red Cross; 2, Knight Templar; and 3, Knight of Malta. It was introduced from France into the United States, in 1808, and the first Grand Encampment General was organized on June 20, 1816, with Governor De Witt Clinton, of New York, as Grand Master.

This inheritance of the Jesuits should hardly be boasted of. If the Knights Templar desire to make good their claims, they must choose between a descent from the "heretical," anti-Christian, kabalistic, primitive Templars, or connect themselves with the Jesuits, and nail their tessellated carpets directly on the platform of ultra-Catholicism! Otherwise, their claims become a mere pretense.

So impossible does it become for the originators of the ecclesiastical pseudo-order of Templars, invented, according to Dupuy, in France, by the adherents of the Stuarts, to avoid being considered a branch of the Order of the Jesuits, that we are not surprised to see an anonymous author, rightly suspected of belonging to the Jesuit Chapter at Clermont, publishing a work in 1751, in Brussels, on the lawsuit of the Knights Templar. In this volume, in sundry mutilated notes, additions, and commentaries, he represents the innocence of the Templars of the accusation of "heresy," thus robbing them of the greatest title to respect and admiration that these early freethinkers and martyrs have won!

This last pseudo-order was constituted at Paris, on the 4th of November, 1804, by virtue of a forged Constitution, and ever since it has "contaminated genuine Freemasonry," as the highest Masons themselves tell us. La Charte de transmission (tabula aurea Larmenii) presents the outward appearance of such extreme antiquity "that Gregoire confesses that if all the other relics of the Parisian treasury of the Order had not silenced his doubts as to their ancient descent, the sight of this charter would at the very first glance have persuaded him." The first Grand Master of this spurious Order was a physician of Paris, Dr. Fahre-Palaprat, who assumed the name of Bernard Raymond.

Count Ramsey, a Jesuit, was the first to start the idea of the Templars being joined to the Knights of Malta. Therefore, we read from his pen the following:

"Our forefathers (! ! !), the Crusaders, assembled in the Holy Land from all Christendom, wished to unite in a fraternity embracing all nations, that when bound together, heart and soul, for mutual improvement, they might, in the course of time, represent one single intellectual people."

This is why the Templars are made to join the St. John's Knights, and the latter got into the craft of Masonry known as St. John's Masons.

Fabré-Palaprat's Order of the Temple claimed to possess significant relics: the sword of Jacques de Molay, the helmet of Guy Dauphin d'Auvergne, the Beausant, and four fragments of burnt bones taken from the funeral pyre where Jacques de Molay had been executed [10]. These relics, described as "The Sacred Treasure of The Order of The Temple" in the Manual of the order (and described within an Inventory in the Statutes of the order),[11] were displayed in March 1808 on the anniversary of Jacques de Molay's death, when members of the Order celebrated a public requiem for the 'martyred' Grand Master in the Church of St. Paul in Paris.[12

Fabré-Palaprat introduced a Johannite Mass in 1834. The title "Christ" was reserved not just for Jesus but used for all leaders of the Johannite tradition who had attained Gnosis.

In 1836 a schism, led by the Duc de Choiseul resulted out of dissatisfaction with the new Johannite church that had replaced the previous chivalric-style order. Fabré-Palaprat responded by admitting Sir Sidney Smith to the Johannite church.[17] The Duc de Choiseul was later elected Grand Master of the Order of the Temple in 1838, dying the same year. [18][19]

Sir Sidney Smith was invited to take over as Grand Master of the Order, an offer he declined, but consented to preside over as Regent until a successor to Fabré-Palaprat had been chosen (which did not happen during his lifetime).[20

Distinctions

Fabré-Palaprat was awarded the Legion of Honour for his defence of Paris in 1814, and received the July Medal for his actions during the Three Glorious Days of the Revolution of 1830.[21
