Construction Ministry: Housing Prices In Kyiv Exceed Citizens’ Buying Ability
(Ukrainian News, Hanna Diakonova, 11/21/2007) The Regional Development and Construction Ministry notes that the housing prices in Kyiv have surpassed the buying ability of citizens.
Reporters learned this from the Regional Development and Construction Minister Volodymyr Yatsuba.
«According to our ministry experts’ estimates, today the price of one square meter of housing in Kyiv has reached the highest level,» the minister said.
Yatsuba noted that, as of today, compact cheap housing is in demand among the population, and consequently it is in deficit.
«Most people seek to buy an apartment outside the city, as it is practically unreal to do this in the capital,» he said.
According to the minister, presently, most people, who have such possibility, invest money not into housing but in land.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the average cost of housing at the primary market makes up USD 2,200 per square meter, and up to USD 3,000 on the secondary market.



El Ministerio de Obras Publicas y Desarrollo Regional afirma que los precios de la vivienda en Kiev han sobrepasado la capacidad de pago de los ciudadanos. Según afirma el ministro Volodimyr Yatsuba.

“De acuerdo a las estimaciones de los expertos de nuestro ministerio, a día de hoy el precio del metro cuadrado ha alcanzado su punto mas alto”, afirmó el ministro. Yatsuba también apunto que a día de hoy la demanda de la población es la de vivienda compacta y barata, y que de esta clase de vivienda hay déficit, “La mayoría de la gente busca un apartamento fuera de Kiev, ya que tratar de encontrarlo en la cuidad de Kiev es prácticamente irreal” afirmó. De acuerdo a las palabras del ministro, en la actualidad, la gente que tiene posibilidad de invertir no lo hace en vivienda sino en suelo. Como ya informó Ucranian News el coste por metro cuadrado para el mercado primario de la vivienda asciende a 2.200 $, y a 3.000 $ para el mercado secundario.
