A mí no me vas a engañar respecto a este tema, puedes insultar, usar toda la demagogia que quieras para generar thanks, etc.

En los países serios se investiga para generar dinero con el que financiarse, no sólo al equipo sino al departamento y a la institución a la que perteneces, sea pública o privada. Tú investigas, generas ingresos con los resultados para tí y para mí, y yo vuelvo a financiar tus proyectos con parte del dinero que generas.

En este país se llama investigar a recopilar artículos con resultados de otros y constatar que son ciertos cuando hace años que la comunidad científica lo ha dado por válidos ... lo que de toda la vida se ha venido llamando "revisión bibliográfica".

En España no existe la investigación. Llevar bata y recibir una beca para hacer el doctorado NO es investigar. Recibir dinero del gobierno como si fueras un saco sin fondo NO es investigar.

PURPOSE OF ROLE:
To facilitate and engage in research and enterprise and maintain a high research reputation and publication output.

To lead research in Chemistry and Medicinal Chemistry and participate in enterprise-related activities.

To play a leading role in promoting the profile of the School particularly in the area of Chemistry

To contribute to the teaching of Chemistry to students within the School, using both academic and professional approaches to enhance the students learning experience.

To support the research programme in the School, leading the application of research grants, industrial sponsorship


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Team Specific:
Nurturing and supporting the research portfolios of colleagues and students, including highlighting networking, collaborative and interdisciplinary opportunities

Supervising the recruitment, course work and research programmes of postgraduate students

Developing research strategy, policy and plans at both School and University level which are aligned to wider School and University strategies and resources

Taking a proactive approach to ethical, good practice and methodological issues

Research and Enterprise:

Professors are expected to undertake all of these activities. The exact balance of research, teaching , administrative and enterprise activities etc that best suits a professor’s skills and competencies is however subject to negotiation with Deans of School and may change over time.


KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

The generation of sustained research and consultancy income which contributes to the strategic objectives and funding available to the University and which supports research staff and students
sufficient income to fund one additional PhD student by the end of Year 1
additional income to fund one post-doctoral fellow by the end of Year 2
a sustained income sufficient to offset their salary and benefits by the end of Year 3 and ongoing


The generation of high quality publications which contribute significantly to the 2014 REF assessment

1 x 3* publication based on work at the University of Greenwich submitted by the end of Year 1

2 x 3* publications in print by the end of Year 2

a sustained output of 2 x 3* publications per year ongoing


Developing links with local, national and international businesses and commercial partners

these links to help generate income as specified in KPI #1 above and also to foster improved academic success by ensuring that our Programme content is relevant to employers and that the employability of our students is enhanced

Developing knowledge transfer and the commercialisation of research outcomes in close consultation with GRE staff

Experience and Skills

Post-doctoral work in a recognised Chemistry group

International reputation in research as evidenced by a portfolio of high quality international journal papers;

Clear and evidenced ability of significant income generation from a variety of sources within an academic environment.;

Significant experience of teaching and programme development in an academic environment;

Significant experience of PhD student supervision to completion;

Experience of successfully leading and developing a research team;

Experience of successfully working in partnership with business and industry.

Experience of working safely in a modern chemistry laboratory environment

Por si alguien no esta muy ducho con el ingles, en los KPIs pone que a partir del 3er año tiene que buscarse la vida y obtener fondos para pagarse su propio salario y a partir del primer año, la pasta para los estudiantes de doctorado

Y eso es lo normal en todos los paises civilizados, basicamente te dan 3 años y si no rula... a la calle y que venga otro

Y si al cabo de 10 - 15 años el catedratico ha montado un grupo fuerte, autosuficiente y que genera pasta, entonces lo haran fijo con honores

Yo he trabajado en universidades asi y la diferencia con Hispanistan es abismal
