Novatec Biosol AG is gearing up for the construction of Puerto Errado 2 (PE 2). The project site is adjacent to the 1.4 MW PE 1, located near Calasparra in the region of Murcia, Southern Spain.
The construction of PE 2 is to commence in the next two months, Novatec Biosol’s CEO Martin Selig told CSPToday.com.
Novatec has designed the plant and it will manufacture and assemble the solar field (approx. 280.000 m2 mirror surface) on a turnkey basis. The company will also be responsible for the overall project management. Novatec has established a plant for the production of mirror elements close to the project site.
Novatec has already received the necessary permits for the project.
The company says it also has permits for two more projects of 60 MW capacity, scheduled to commence construction in the next 3-9 months. The company’s linear-focussed solar power system is based on the Fresnel collector principle for generating saturated steam at temperatures of up to 270°C.
